Configuring Pinterest
Prerequisites
- After accepting Pinterest Ad Terms, accept Pinterest Mobile Measurement Terms & Conditions here.
- See Pinterest's user-level data policies here.
- Integrate the Singular SDK (see instructions).
- Obtain your Advertiser / Account ID and Access Token from Pinterest. See Pinterest's documentation and the following sections so you can enter these values into Singular's Partner Configuration:
- Getting your Access Token and Advertiser ID
1. Configure Pinterest as a Partner
See Partner Configuration for general instructions for setting up a partner.
Configure the Pinterest configuration by providing your Advertiser ID in the Account ID section and the Access Token.
When configuring Event Postbacks, Pinterest recommends that the "Send all" option be used when reporting those events.
2. Create the Singular Tracking Link
To track installs on Pinterest, you need one tracking link created in Singular and deeplinks configured for your app.
If you do not have deeplinks configured for your app, just input your Singular tracking link into the Ad tracking URLs field(s) in your Pinterest account.
- Note: you can have separate click and impression tracking links for iOS and Android. However, Pinterest recommends using one link for both iOS and Android.
- Impt: remove the &redirect=false from Singular's tracking link for Android if you want Singular's link to redirect to the play store. The iOS deeplink redirect will still work as expected when &redirect=false is appended to the link.
If you want to deeplink users into your app, Pinterest recommends inputting your deeplink into the Ad Destination link field, and assigning a fallback destination.
3. Set up Pinterest conversion events
In your Pinterest account, set up conversion events and map your Singular events to Pinterest event names or to the "custom" event mapping for an event in Pinterest. Please see Pinterest's documentation here.
