Connect Slack from the Data Connectors page and Singular sends you a daily update on your data connectors: which ones need your attention, which are still updating, and which finished. Each item links straight into Singular so you can fix it.
Turn it on
- In Singular, open the Data Connectors page. You can also start from the Alerts page.
- Choose the Slack option and approve it in Slack, picking the channel the updates should go to.
- Singular posts a welcome message to that channel confirming it is set up.
This is set up per person. Connecting Slack turns the updates on for you, not for your teammates, and each person picks their own channel. If several people on the same account connect, each gets their own copy.
What arrives
The update is headed Daily update with the date, and contains up to three sections.
Action required
Connectors that need you to do something, usually a login or credentials problem. Each one names the data source, the user it belongs to and what the issue is, and carries an Edit credentials button that opens that connector in Singular.
Data delay
Connectors that are still updating. The data is being pulled but is taking longer than usual, and the update says so along with when it is expected. These usually clear on their own.
Active
How many connectors finished updating, with a Go to Data Connectors button.
The Action required and Data delay sections each list up to five connectors. When there are more, the section ends with a link to see the rest in Singular.
When it arrives
Once a day. When you connect, Singular tells you the update arrives at 8 a.m. and covers the previous day's data.
Nothing arrives on a clean day. The update is only sent when at least one connector needs attention or is still delayed, so a quiet channel means every connector finished on time. This is the most common reason people think the alerts have stopped working.
Turn it off
Disconnect Slack from the Data Connectors page. Singular posts a short confirmation to the channel and stops sending the daily update. You can set it up again from the same place at any time.
Good to know
- Everyone in the channel sees the update, including which connectors are broken and which user owns them. A private channel is often the better choice.
- The update covers the connectors on your Singular account. Fixing a credentials problem from the button in Slack fixes it for the whole account.
- This is separate from the AI assistant and from monitor alerts, and is set up on its own. Connecting one does not connect the others.
