How to Configure Postbacks Advanced Settings

The postbacks advanced settings give you finer control over the data that Singular sends to your partners in postbacks. These additional settings let you customize the default postback URL and set up rules to filter postbacks.

Postbacks Advanced Settings is a group of advanced features - please read before using them.
Postbacks filters feature is not enabled by default. If you're interested, reach out to your Singular customer success manager.

Note:

  • Postback advanced settings is in gradual rollout.
    For the following partners use Flexible postback :
    X(Twitter), Tencent, Snap Conversion API (s2s), Microsoft Ads conversions API (s2s), Google Ads Enhanced Conversions API (S2S), Google Ads Offline Conversions API (S2S).
  • Postbacks Advanced Settings is available for all types of postbacks (install, re-engagement and in-app events).
  • Postbacks Advanced Settings changes will be saved only when you save the whole partner configuration (out of the Postbacks Advanced Settings pop up).

Steps

1 In your Singular account, go to Attribution Setup > Partner Configuration .

To disable postbacks about installs or re-engagement, uncheck the checkbox next to the default install postback:

3 Select the desired partner and select an App and App Site .
Open the postbacks Advanced Settings by clicking on the icon in the attribution postbacks table or in the events postbacks table.

Update Postback URL:
In order to manually update the URL, select the "Manually Customize" button

Now you can carefully update the URL.
The updated URL will be saved only when you click "Save" for the whole partner configuration.

Note that once you save the postback with "Manually Customize" selected. Singular will not update the postback URL, even if there is a partner wide update.

Tracker Campaign Name Filter :
Leave this field blank to have Singular send postbacks for all Singular links (i.e. tracker campaign).
Use this field to restrict postbacks to the specific Singular Links you mention - use the Singular link name.

Postback Filters:
Only postback that meet the rules will be sent.
1. Click +Add Filter

2. Set up rules:

  • Filter : use a predefined filter type from the drop down or type in any postback macros available .
    • Postback macros should be typed in using curly brackets
  • Action : available actions differ according to the type of the filter chosen.
    • Available action: Exclude, Include, Equals, Greater than, smaller than.
  • Values: According to the filter type, the values field can be a drop down of a closed list of values, free text, one value or multiple selection.

Postback advanced settings is in gradual rollout.
For the following partners use legacy Flexible Postbacks (explanation below):
X(Twitter), Tencent, Snap Conversion API (s2s), Microsoft Ads conversions API (s2s), Google Ads Enhanced Conversions API (S2S), Google Ads Offline Conversions API (S2S).


Flexible Postbacks

note:

  • This is a legacy feature and screen, still available for a few partners.
  • Flexible postback settings don't apply to self-attributing networks (Apple, Yahoo, Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Snapchat).
1 In your Singular account, go to Attribution Setup > Partner Configuration .
2 Select the desired partner and select an App and App Site . If you have flexible postbacks enabled in your account, you will see advanced settings in the configuration window.

To disable postbacks about installs, click the trash icon next to the default install postback:

Under Event Postbacks , you can change the lookback type for each event postback.

  • None: No lookup window.
  • Click: The lookback window starts from the click time.
  • Install: The lookback window starts from the time of the install or re-engagement.

Once you've chosen a lookback window type , you can choose the number of days to look back.

Click the settings icon to expand even more settings for the postback:

  • Tracker Campaign Name Filter : Use this field to restrict postbacks to the specific campaigns you mention. Leave this field blank to have Singular send postbacks for all campaigns.
  • Update Postback URL: Ordinarily, partner networks let Singular know which URL to send postbacks to. But in special cases where you are asked by the partner to have postbacks sent to a different URL, you can enter it here. You should also ask the partner to provide you with the complete URL to reduce the chance of errors.
